Terms of Service

You must be at least 13 years old to use Qurba. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. By using the Platform, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

You may sign in via Google OAuth or by other methods we make available. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and in your profile.
• Keep your credentials confidential and not share your account with others.
• Notify us immediately at support@qurba.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
• Not create multiple accounts to circumvent suspensions or platform limits.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are fraudulent or harmful.

Qurba is a directory of listings serving the Muslim community. Business owners who claim or create listings agree to:

• Provide accurate information about their business, including name, address, hours, and a truthful description of what they offer.
• Not post misleading claims about products, services, or religious compliance. Intentional misrepresentation is grounds for removal.
• Respond to verification requests from our team within a reasonable timeframe.

Listings are community-sourced and owner-maintained. Users should conduct their own due diligence before relying on any listing. Qurba does not audit religious compliance for every business.

Some listing details and gallery photos are supplied live through Google Maps Platform. Google Maps photos remain subject to the applicable Google Maps terms and are credited with links back to their Google Maps source.

By using those features, you also agree to the Google Maps Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

Users may submit reviews, ratings, and responses about listings. By submitting a review, you confirm:

• The review is based on a genuine, first-hand experience with the business.
• The content is accurate to the best of your knowledge and does not contain false statements of fact.
• You have not received compensation to write a positive or negative review.

You may edit your review within 48 hours of submission. After that window, reviews are locked to preserve integrity. Qurba reserves the right to remove reviews that are spam, defamatory, harassing, or in violation of these Terms. Claimed business owners may flag inappropriate reviews for moderation; paying for a subscription does not guarantee removal of a review.

Qurba provides a peer-to-peer marketplace (“Marketplace”) where users may buy and sell goods. By listing an item, you represent that:

• You own the item or have the right to sell it.
• The listing description, price, and photos are accurate and not misleading.
• The item complies with applicable law (no counterfeit, prohibited, or stolen goods).
• Items sold as halal-certified are accurately represented.

Qurba is a venue only. We are not a party to any transaction between buyers and sellers. All sales are between users directly. We do not guarantee delivery, quality, or payment. Disputes between buyers and sellers must be resolved between the parties; we may assist with dispute resolution at our discretion.

Users may make offers and counter-offers on listings. Accepted offers are binding commitments to complete the transaction in good faith. Repeatedly making offers with no intention to buy may result in account suspension.

Users and listings may create events on the Platform. Event organizers are solely responsible for the accuracy of event details, including date, time, location, capacity, and any fees. Qurba is not responsible for event cancellations, changes, or any harm arising from attendance at listed events.

Events with capacity limits use a waitlist system. Being on a waitlist does not guarantee attendance. Organizers must honor confirmed RSVPs up to the stated capacity.

The Platform enables listings and individuals to post job opportunities and service requests. By posting a job or service request, you agree that:

• All listings are for lawful work or services.
• Job descriptions accurately represent the role, compensation, and requirements.
• You will respond to applicants in good faith.

Jobs posted on the Platform are automatically closed after 90 days if not manually extended or filled. Service providers submitting quotes agree to honor quoted prices if accepted within the stated validity period.

Qurba is not an employer of record and is not party to any employment or service relationship formed through the Platform. We do not vet the qualifications of job seekers or service providers.

Certain service providers offer appointment bookings through the Platform. Bookings are agreements between the user and the provider. Cancellation and rescheduling policies are set by the service provider. Qurba is not liable for any damages arising from missed, cancelled, or rescheduled appointments.

The Platform includes community question-and-answer features. By posting questions or answers, you grant Qurba a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display and distribute your content on the Platform. You retain ownership of your content.

You agree not to post content that is misleading, harmful, off-topic, or in violation of these Terms. Votes on answers are intended to surface accurate, helpful information — vote manipulation is prohibited.

The Platform provides real-time messaging between users. Messages are private communications between participants. Claimed business owners can receive and respond to customer messages on the Free plan and above. You agree not to use messaging to send spam, unsolicited promotions, harassment, or any unlawful content. Qurba may review messages when necessary to investigate reported violations.

Qurba offers subscription plans for business owners, including a free tier and paid tiers (“Growth” and “Pro”). Payments for paid tiers are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service in addition to these Terms.

Qurba may also allow organizers to sell paid event tickets through the Platform. Free events remain free to post and RSVP to. Paid event ticket purchases are processed by Stripe, and Qurba may charge a platform fee shown at checkout or absorbed by the organizer depending on the event setup.

• Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually, as selected at checkout.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date via the billing portal.
• Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods, except where required by law.
• Event ticket refund eligibility is controlled by the organizer's posted refund policy and any applicable law. Qurba may assist with processing full refunds through Stripe when authorized by the organizer or an admin.
• QR tickets may be voided or marked checked in by the event organizer or Qurba admin staff to prevent duplicate use or fraud.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to subscribers.
• Downgrading or cancelling a plan removes access to plan-specific features at the end of the current billing period.

Qurba may offer a referral program that allows users to invite others and earn credits or benefits. Referral rewards are subject to change or discontinuation at any time. Abuse of the referral program, including creating fake accounts or self-referrals, will result in forfeiture of all referral benefits and may result in account suspension.

From time to time, Qurba may offer promotional or deal features (including QR redemption at a business location). These features may be unavailable, limited, or changed. When available, each deal is an offer by the business, not by Qurba. Qurba makes no representation regarding the availability, quality, or terms of any deal. Once a deal is marked as redeemed, it cannot be re-used.

You agree not to:

• Post false, misleading, defamatory, or fraudulent content.
• Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users.
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Platform without our permission.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or compromise the Platform's security.
• Use the Platform to promote illegal goods, services, or activities.
• Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation.
• Impersonate any person or entity.
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the Platform.

The Qurba name, logo, and Platform design are our proprietary property. You may not use them without our prior written consent. Content you submit (reviews, listings, photos) remains yours, but you grant us a non-exclusive license to display, reproduce, and distribute it as part of operating the Platform. You represent that you own or have the rights to any content you upload.

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. We are not responsible for the conduct of users, the quality of business services, or the accuracy of user-generated content.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Qurba and its officers, directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Platform — including loss of profits, data, or goodwill — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to Qurba in the 12 months preceding the claim or (b) $50.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Qurba and its affiliates from any claims, losses, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

You may delete your account at any time via the Settings page. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will do so.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform will be resolved by binding arbitration in Chicago, Illinois, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction for intellectual property infringement or other urgent matters.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
